Bear Country USA
Bear Country USA is a drive through Wildlife Park, located In the Black Hills, which offers the largest collection of privately owned black bears in the world.
Bear Country USA allows you to observe some of nature’s greatest beasts up close from your own car. At the end of the leisurely drive is Babyland, which is more of a traditional zoo, where you’re able to stroll around, shop, eat, and see even more animals.
While you’re in the Black Hills area, make sure to stop by Bear Country USA, where you can take a nice three mile past some of Mother Nature’s finest animals. A few of the animals include arctic wolves, bighorn sheep, black bears, bobcats, buffalo, elk, and grizzly bears.
Home to 20 different species of North American mammals, Bear Country USA provides 250 acres of the beautiful Black Hills for these animals to live in. Even though the animals are born in captivity, every effort is made to imitate a natural environment within the park, so the animals can be happy and healthy.
Smaller animals, including babies, don’t thrive as well in the wild park, which is why Bear Country USA offers Babyland. Located at the end of the drive, Babyland allows visitors to stroll around on foot through a more zoo-like environment. There you can observe all of the black bear cubs born in the spring, along with otters, badgers, and more. Babyland is also home to the Bear’s Den Gift Shop where you can buy a large variety of items ranging anywhere from underwear to figurines. There is something for everyone at Bear Country USA, so make sure to stop by while in the Black Hills area.
