60 years before the Firehouse was established as a restaurant, it served as the headquarters for the Rapid City Fire Department. It was bought in 1991 by Fuchs with plans to convert it from a fine-dining restaurant to casual eatery and the city's first microbrewery.
Today
The Firehouse has a merchant shop, a restaurant, and a brewery connected to one-another just off of Main Street in downtown Rapid City, SD. It has kept its past alive with plaques and fire poles on display at the brewery, as well as its pair of holes in the stone walls near the front bay doors from when the building was first constructed. The Firehouse Brewery also plays its connection to firefighting with its numerous fire trucks positioned along I-90.
