Pizza Ranch
Pizza Ranch is a buffet chain that offers pizza, fried chicken, and classic American side dishes, in an Old Western-themed setting. They are located on 1556 Luna Ave, Rapid City, SD 57701, near the south-side Walmart.
Pizza Ranch is a good place for college students and ICPC competitors to get a good meal. While Pizza Ranch is a little out of town and somewhat pricy, the quantity and the quality of the food is well worth both the drive and the price. Pizza Ranch has a good atmosphere for the kind of food that can be enjoyed in the restaurant. With its Old Western approach, the warm food, and variety of choices, Pizza Ranch is a good choice for both college students and ICPC competitors to dine.
Despite Pizza Ranch being a chain restaurant, I was surprised to find such quality food and service. From the décor to the fare, it’s obvious that this restaurant knows it’s customers and how to feed them.
Pizza Ranch is a buffet consisting of a pizza bar, a dinner counter, a fruits and vegetable salad table, and a soft serve ice cream machine with dessert pizza. They offer a variety of different pizzas and will make specialty pizzas on request. Each pizza is fresh, hot, and ready to be eaten. With every pizza ripe for the taking, you can always get your fill. The dinner counter has standard western foods: succulent fried chicken, juicy corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, and more. The fruits and vegetable salad table, which also includes soups and puddings, provides a variety that keeps you hungry. To top off every visit, it’s nice to end the meal with a little dessert, like a pumpkin dessert pie with ice cream.
Pizza Ranch does a good job with how it themes itself. The interior and exterior of the store is completely made out of wood (similar to a log cabin). Inside the restaurant, there are wooden chairs that look like they were made from tree branches, and animal skulls and wood signs hanging on the walls. Everything comes together to give off the impression that you are truly in the Old West.
